Enrique has been an active sportsperson for most of his life, which helped him to develop motor skills which he was later able to transfer to Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. As an adult, he fell in love with the mentally and physically challenging aspects of BJJ and has since dedicated himself to the art.

Coach

As the BJJ Head Coach, he would like to encourage those who are interested in yet hesitant to try out BJJ because of various reasons such as fitness, gender, and age to set those concerns aside and just start training. There is simply no way besides training BJJ to prepare for it. The more mat hours you put in, the more fit and the better at Jiu Jitsu you will get.

As a coach, Enrique’s preferred method is to instil in his students a solid understanding of the fundamentals, as well as the importance of good technique. His coaching style is a mix of strict and encouraging, and he is well-liked and respected by his students.

Competitor

Enrique is also an active Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu competitor in the national and international circuit of the most prestigious BJJ organisations, such as IBJJF and UAEJJF.

His achievements include:
– 2nd place at IBJJF World Master Championship 2013 (Purple belt)
– 2nd place at IBJJF Worlds Master Championship 2014 (Brown belt)
– 3rd place at IBJJF World Master Championship 2015 (Brown belt)
– 3rd place at IBJJF European International Open 2018 (Black belt)
– 2nd place at IBJJF Master International – Europe 2018 (Black belt)
– 1st place at IBJJF London Winter Open 2018 (Black belt)
– 1st place at IBJJF British Nationals 2018 (Black belt gi and no-gi)
– 2nd place at IBJJF London Winter Open 2019 (Black belt)
– 2nd place at Abu Dhabi Grand Slam London 2020 (Black belt)
– 1st place at IBJJF European Championships 2023 (Black belt)
